Raise stick insects from eggs with this pop-up habitat & instructions.
With this kit children get the opportunity to watch tiny eggs hatch and grow into Indian stick insects (Carausius Morosus)! All you need to add is some ivy, bramble or privet for them to feed on. These creatures are great fun to watch - they hide very well being so stick-like, and have a funny swaying dance which I remember giving us no end of fun to copy as children. They can be handled, carefully, too.
In this kit you receive the pop-up mesh habitat and a voucher entitling you to 6-8 stick insect eggs, plus instructions on how to care for them. The eggs can take up to two months to hatch.
You receive NO eggs or live creatures with this kit. When you receive the kit you simply need to enter the code from your voucher into the Insect Lore website, to place your order for the eggs. These are then sent to you by Insect Lore. The P&P charge for this is currently £2.50, paid directly to Insect Lore.
These stick insects should not be released into the wild as they would not survive.
I also have butterfly hatching kits from the same company and can highly recommend this magical experience also. (Butterflies can be released into the wild). Please have a buzz around the shop!
